Building a Leading Helium Exploration Company

North American Helium is led by an experienced team which combines strong scientific, engineering, geologic and business capabilities. As the Company continues to advance its strategy toward build a leading helium exploration and production company in North America, it has been actively growing its technical and organizational capabilities. North American Helium currently employs nearly 50 full-time staff split evenly between field locations and our corporate office. The Company has successfully built teams across a variety of technical areas specific to exploring for, processing and marketing helium.

Nicholas Snyder

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Snyder founded North American Helium in 2013, recognizing a need for new supplies of logistically-safe and reliable helium production not linked to hydrocarbon projects. He has significant experience investing in the resource space, previously as a Principal at Union Square Research Group and prior to that he was President of Morris Snyder Asset Management. 

Marlon McDougall

President & Chief Operating Officer

Mr. McDougall has 35 years of experience in the Canadian oil & gas sector, most recently as COO of Grizzly Resources. Previously he served as COO of Pengrowth Energy, where had responsibility for  500+ indirect reports and annual capital budgets approaching $1 billion, successfully managing multiple major capital projects and drilling programs.

Brad Borggard

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Borggard has over 20 years of experience in energy investments and capital markets. During his career he has worked for upstream production companies such as Gulf Canada Resources and Crescent Point Energy, specializing in the areas of Finance, Corporate Planning, Business Development and Investor Relations. He also spent nearly a decade as a sell-side research analyst with two of Canada’s largest banks, Scotia Capital and CIBC World Markets, and was ranked as a “TopGun” Canadian energy analyst several years in succession by Brendan Wood International.

Dave Allen

Executive Vice President Exploration and Planning

Mr. Allen is a geologist with over 35 years experience in senior leadership roles across broad business functions. Dave has extensive experience working with diverse teams to build, characterize, & optimize drilling prospect inventories for use in guiding corporate asset acquisition, disposition, and capital programming activities.  Most recently he served as VP Exploration for Grounded Lithium Corp and Pengrowth Energy Corp,  and VP Geoscience for Grafton Asset Management, Pipestone Energy Corp, and Pipestone Oil Corp.

Patty Thomas, M.Sc.

Vice President Geosciences

Mrs. Thomas has 33 years of experience exploring, developing, and mapping hydrocarbon formations in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin and is responsible for multiple oil & gas discoveries in Saskatchewan. She was previously VP Exploration for Raven Energy and Prairie Hunter Energy, as well as working for larger oil companies and government clients.

Vance Blydo, P.Eng.

Vice President Operations and Engineering

Mr. Blydo is a professional engineer with 25 years of operational experience in the oil & gas industry in Western Canada, both in exploration and development, production, plant design, and facilities operations. He previously managed the drilling program at Spyglass Resources after working in operations at Renegade Petroleum and Zapata Energy.

Donna Bowles, P. Land

Vice President Land & Stakeholder Relations

Mrs. Bowles is a professional landman and has over 25 years of diverse experience in the energy industry. She was previously a founding member of Standard Exploration after working at the predecessor to that public company. Prior to that she worked for eight years at Canadian Natural Resources. Mrs. Bowles was the Chairperson of the 2014 CAPL Conference.
