Job Opportunity – Logistics
North American Helium Inc. (NAH) is a Calgary-based private helium exploration and production company with assets in the province of Saskatchewan, as well as the states of Utah, Arizona and Montana. NAH is currently accepting applications for a Logistics Coordinator living in reasonable proximity to our field operations in Southwest Saskatchewan (Maple Creek, Shaunavon, Mankota, and Eastend). The successful candidate must be willing to travel to field plant sites on a regular basis to complete tasks associated with the role. There is flexibility to work from home for some aspects of the job. This position will report to the Marketing and Logistics Manager and will work closely with the field operations staff.
Helium is an emerging business in Canada providing a rewarding and challenging opportunity for the successful candidate.
The Role:
- Manage and optimize a logistics plan for both gaseous helium tube trailers and liquid helium ISO containers
- Track off-take volumes monthly by customer to ensure proper allocation of product
- Publish daily and monthly fill reports, as well as forecasts to customers
- Work with NAH staff, customs brokerage firm and transportation company to prepare custom clearance documentation to transport helium into the United States and internationally
- Planning and recommending annual trailer requirements to meet current and future helium sales volumes
- Building and managing relationships with third party carriers for helium transportation and ensuring costs are current and competitive
- Assist with implementing and managing logistics maintenance program
- Work with accounting team to generate monthly sales invoices
- Understand and work with municipal, provincial, federal, and international government bodies on transportation permits, regulations, etc.
- Assist as required for various other administrative field operational activities that may arise
- Full time salary position and after-hours accessibility is a requirement.
The Role:
- Strong attention to detail, proven ability to prioritize, plan effectively and meet critical deadlines.
- Strong computer skills – must be proficient with Excel
- Outgoing communication style, both internally and externally, is an absolute must.
- Some understanding of commodity transportation logistics and the ability to balance competing priorities in a very fluid operating scenario between multiple customers, trucking companies and plant operations would be beneficial
- Helium is a new and evolving Saskatchewan industry and there is no cohort of experience available. NAH fully expects to provide significant training for this role.
