Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA)
On June 1, 2015, the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (“the Act”) was brought into effect by the Canadian government. The Act requires companies in the business of the commercial development of crude oil, natural gas and minerals, to report the payments they make to governments in Canada and abroad on an annual basis.
North American Helium is committed to conducting business in a responsible, ethical and respectful way. Further, we believe that this commitment to transparency with stakeholders ultimately results in a more robust and sustainable business.
The ESTMA reports below provide a summary of payments made to governments involved in the commercial development of helium gas.
The Act is one of the ways Canada is delivering on its international commitment to contribute to global efforts to increase transparency and deter corruption in the extractive sector.
